Who is a landlord

A landlord is anyone who rents out a property, a room in a residential dwelling or holiday accommodation. If the property has a gas appliance in it the landlord will need an up-to-date Gas Safety certificate / CP12.

It is the landlord’s responsibility that a gas check is carried out every 12 months or when a new tenant moves in.

Having a Gas Safety inspection annually will help pick up any problems before they turn into expensive boiler repairs or become dangerous.

Who can have one

Its not only landlords that can have a Gas Safety check. We also offer Gas Safety tests for new homebuyers. We check all gas appliances and issue a Gas Safety record making sure all the gas appliances are working properly and safe to use.
