What our customers say
Common taps & problems
Taps leaking
Seals and cartridges can start leaking on taps just down to general every day wear and tear. Replacing the washers or cartridges will normally resolve this problem.
Constant drip
If you notice the tap is still dripping once it is completely turned off most common on kitchen taps this could be a worn cartridge not closing properly, as long as the cartridge is still available these can be replaced, if not a new kitchen tap replacement will be required
Tap handle not turning
If you have a mono tap and the handle is stiff or not turning off there could be limescale inside preventing it from moving. In most cases these taps will need replacing.
Low water pressure
If the is no water coming from the tap or no hot water this could be a blockage in the tap or worn parts of even a problem with the boiler or hot water cylinder and will need diagnosing.
Isolation valves
To change a tap or carry out maintenance every tap, electric shower and toilet should have a isolation valve fitted to the hot and cold water pipe. This can then be turned off to carry out the work. Sometimes these valves can leak and will need replacing.
