Installation requirements

Before the new gas hob is fitted the Gas Safe engineer will carry out a few checks to make sure that the new gas hob can be installed.

The area around the gas hob will be inspected. This is called the “hot zone”. We make sure there is no combustible materials in this space like electric sockets, shelves, loose wallpaper or kitchen cupboards. A clearance of 750mm above and 50mm to the side is needed for the gas hob.

It is a requirements that there is an openable window to the outside for ventilation or a suitable extractor fan that meets the requirements for the new gas hob installation.

If these requirements are not met we will not be able to complete the gas hob/cooker installation.

What we offer

By having you new gas hob / cooker installed by us you can be assured that the gas hob / cooker installation has been fitted correctly and to the gas industry standard.

Any gas hob, cooker or range cooker fitted by us has a 12 month warranty for our workmanship plus the manufacturer’s warranty.

We will only ever send a Billericay Gas Safe engineer to your property to carry out the gas hob / cooker installation, all new installations come with a written invoice and certificate, if required.
