What is a gas boiler service

A yearly boiler check is a procedure carried out by a qualified Gas Safe engineer to make sure your gas boiler is safe for your family to use and running correctly.

During the service the gas engineer with check all the safety devices on the boiler, check for leaks, make sure mechanical parts are all working, then all the external safety checks.

It is highly recommended that all gas boiler are serviced yearly to check on the safety side and to locate any small faults before they can turn into expensive repairs.

Who should carry out the service

A yearly boiler check should only ever be carried out by a qualified Gas Safe engineer with experience on working on gas boilers of any model.

It is illegal for anyone who is not on the Gas Safe register to work on any gas appliance or issue a Gas Safety Certificate. A qualified Gas Safe engineer will always carry an ID card you can check.
